There is a lot to do when preparing to head to college. You have to think about scholarships, textbooks, roommates, on parking campus, etc., but what do you do about your banking accounts? Did you know MNB has a Great Start Checking account with features that are perfect for students or for graduates heading off to college? MNB is dedicated to helping young adults find ways to get a Great Start, and one of those ways is with Great Start Checking. It has many features that make it easy to take with you and alleviate a few worries when preparing for college!
What are the benefits of Great Start Checking?
- Low opening deposit of $50
- No minimum balance requirement
- No monthly service fee
- Access to eServices
- Reimbursement of up to $10 a month on fees incurred for using ATMs other than MNB’s
There are also features of the program that provide options for your parents to help you manage your money:
- Joint account access
- Ability to set limits
- Ability to receive account alerts
Each year MNB also awards two one-time $500 Great Start Scholarships to be used toward the cost of tuition and fees. Students enrolling or already enrolled full time in a 2- or 4-year college, university, or vocational school are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
